This cute little embrodiered hoop was a cute little dress. I simply used the colours of the material and stitched over them using Pearl Cotton in different ways for the different colours. For example for the blue mushroom spots I tied knots to make them even more tactile to touch. I used seed beads over the little grass bits. Yes I have to tidy up the back on this one too but I have to work out how to do that yet!

I finished the hoop I started here. Hoop-a-ray. I simply used the colours of the material and stitched over some of the giraffes using Pearl Cotton. I tied knots on the spots. It's going on the wall in boy child's room. Not 100% sure I've done all the giraffes that need doing so need to sit on his bed and look at it a bit. He likes touching it. I have to tidy up the back of it but trying not to be Miss Perfectionist! Which stops me all too often in my life.

A piano stool that I got for $5 from The Eco Store in ChCh. My Man about the House was not impressed with the purchase. It was just after seeing this Pin Real Life post from Dee. It has been used to store scrap paper in in the lounge/dinning area as it has a flip top lid. The brocade material is finally giving way and several times I've got fabric out of my stash to make a new seat cover but couldn't decide (bit like this lass I am). We'll see the first sanding attempt put me off and I've not had another go yet.

I've fallen in love with jodi's style over at cheandfidel.blogspot.com. As too have many others. I probably shouldn't tell all 7 or so of my readers about this competition (all the stuff below) but .... well I'm just too nice a person.
Ok sorry alterior motive another entry into the comp.

An embroidered hoop thingee for the wall was on the list of things to make for Master Happy for last Christmas 2011 and it was started after this Christmas 2012. So awesome to have almost finished it now. It's to match the cushion I made for him the Christmas before 2010 (pictured below). In his first year of life he had a thing for giraffes and the sparrows out the bay window pictured. When I started making it he was so thrilled that it was going to be for his bedroom and he has chosen where he wants to put it.

(image made by me from of a pohutukawa tree and fiddled with on picmonkey.com)
But here are the things I do wish for this blog:
1. Blog more often
2. Get more followers so I have an incentive to blog which might mean I have to blog more often. Funny that.
3. Grow the a green life business
4. Make my house a home.. I'm going to call this 'Make my home life'. I'm even going to design a 'pin'. But you'll have to bear with me for that as I'm expecting that to take hours. If you've been here before you might notice I've gone a bit simpler on the colours for 2013 (for now anyway). Having some difficulty with the title font and a few other bits and pieces since fiddling around ...
